Frequently Asked Questions

I already give to the Regis Fund on an annual basis. Why should I give to Now We Fly too?

The beauty of the Now We Fly campaign is that it’s completely comprehensive, so a gift to the Regis Fund is automatically a gift to the campaign. The Regis Fund is one of the four main funding priorities associated with Now We Fly because unrestricted funds remain essential to upholding the many traditions of excellence that Regis is known for.

Donors are encouraged to consider supporting additional funding “buckets” of the campaign in addition to their regular Regis Fund support, and because the campaign is multiyear initiative, many donors are making multiyear pledges and gifts to help Regis reach its goals.

The Now We Fly goal of $40 million seems ambitious. Is that attainable and will my gift make a difference?

All gifts always make a difference. When it comes to a campaign, there is serious strength in numbers. $40 million is ambitious but attainable over the five-year campaign period; Regis is building a stronger culture of philanthropy to continue competing in the Greater Boston higher education market, and all gifts of all amounts increase participation rates which in turn helps to build the culture and reputation as a great school to invest in.

I’m interested in making a campaign gift that will leave a named legacy. Are there naming opportunities associated with Now We Fly gifts?

Absolutely! There are naming opportunities for several capital projects around campus, as well as named endowed scholarships or faculty chairs are available as well. Read more about our naming opportunities.

I’m thinking about joining the Catherine Burke Society by making a planned gift to Regis. Will my commitment be counted toward Now We Fly?

Yes. If you choose to include Regis in your estate plan, for example, your intention can be included in the Now We Fly campaign total if you provide proper documentation and you are at least 70 years of age. If you participate in a life income gift such as a charitable gift annuity, the principal gift to establish the annuity will be counted immediately in the campaign. There are several other types of planned gifts that can be made as part of the Now We Fly campaign. Visit the Catherine Burke Society website to learn more or call 781.768.7220.

Can I make a gift to Now We Fly through my IRA?

Yes. Giving through your IRA can have great tax benefits for donors 70 ½ or older. Learn more about the Charitable IRA.

How will my Now We Fly gift be recognized?

You will receive a gift receipt and acknowledgement immediately upon making your gift to the campaign. All Regis donors (excluding those who have asked to remain anonymous) are listed in our annual report of donors in print and/or on our website under the appropriate giving level. Donors in the President’s Associates and Circles are invited to an annual event with President Hays on campus.

I sponsored (or attended) the Let It Shine Gala. Does that make me a Now We Fly donor and does it count toward the $40 million campaign goal?

Yes. Now We Fly is fully comprehensive so gifts to Regis made in any way count toward the goal. Funds raised through the annual Let It Shine Gala are designated specifically for scholarship. Gala donors often make separate campaign gifts to support other campaign priorities in addition to attending the event.

Can my gift for the Now We Fly campaign be in memory or in honor of someone?

Of course. We encourage you to recognize someone special as part of your campaign gift, and naming opportunities related to memorial gifts are available as well.
