Tips for Recording a Video

 

Setting Up 

• Record in landscape mode on your phone – NOT portrait. This is really important!
• Speak clearly and slowly
• Record in a quiet space and be conscious of your background 
• Be sure to pause for at least 5 seconds before and after your message. This allows the editor to make smooth transitions between videos from multiple videos.
• If you mess up, just pause and start again! No need to stop filming and start over. 

 

Tips for the Best Recording 

• Do a quick test run to check your audio and see how you look in the lens. 
• Avoid starting your introduction with time-dated references such as “Good morning” or “Good afternoon”. 
• Speak slowly and clearly. 
• At the end of your recording, wait 5-10 seconds before turning your camera off so that the video can fade out naturally.
