LAB OPERATIONS MANAGEMENT MINOR
Bridging Passion and Purpose
From an early age, Princesa Gonzalez '26 has always had a passion for helping others, whether by cheering up friends on tough days or assisting her family with household tasks. It’s no surprise that when Gonzalez began exploring colleges, she felt a strong connection to Regis after learning about its mission and core values.
Gonzalez is the proud recipient of the Regis College Puerto Rico Dear Neighbor Scholarship, a full-tuition, four-year undergraduate scholarship awarded to students who exemplify the values of the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston.
“Being chosen as the recipient of the Dear Neighbor Scholarship is not just an honor but a profound affirmation of values I hold dearly—compassion, service, and a commitment to make a difference in the world,” says Gonzalez. “This scholarship allows me to continue my education and follow my dreams, and it inspires me to continue striving for excellence in all I do.”
Gonzalez merged her passion for science with her desire to help others by majoring in biology. After discovering that Regis offers a lab operations management (LOM) minor—one of only three in-person programs of its kind in the United States—she quickly decided to add it to her studies.
“After finishing my first semester of LOM courses, I fell in love with it and all the opportunities it could bring me,” says Gonzalez. “I was excited to learn all the ways I could make a positive impact in the world through lab work.”
Gonzalez is grateful for the hands-on experiences provided by the LOM program, including simulations and research projects, which have prepared her for life after graduation.
“My classes offered a deep dive into managing lab environments, allowing me to develop critical analysis, precision in experiments, and effective communication—skills transferable to any professional setting,” she says.
These experiences have helped Gonzalez refine her career goals, and more importantly, gain the confidence to achieve them.
“Regis has helped me develop a strong work ethic that is marked by perseverance, flexibility, and critical thinking,” Gonzalez says. “I can't wait to use the knowledge and skills I’ve acquired at Regis to make a significant contribution in my field.”
