Class of 1947 is preparing to celebrate 100s birthdays during 2025! Wowza. “I’m doing very well, thank you” was how Eleanor Consentino Feuer answered my greeting during our call in early November. Eleanor still lives in her family home, visited frequently by her son John who lives nearby. A grandson lives one floor below, and every Sunday afternoon her two nieces bring lunch and spend the afternoon with her. She was very excited to tell me about the rebuild of the Haverhill Consentino Middle School named after her dad. A new technology-advanced building will be ready to open in the New Year. Eleanor closed our conversation by letting me know “I’ll be 99 on January 1, 2025, you know.” Happy birthday Eleanor!
Rita Rizzo Covelle remains active in her pro-life organizations, including as President of the Morality in Media of Massachusetts. Rita continues to live independently in her Stoneham home and spends time with family and friends. Frances Signorelli Peeler continues to live along the banks of the Severn River in Annapolis, MD in her home where she and her husband David raised their 5 children. Gertrude Breen Alfredson continues an active life with family reunions, Regis continuing education and tending to gardens at her Newton home. Gert and I attended the Regis Alumni Memorial Liturgy on November 3rd. A well-attended event by alums and families, this year the Regis community remembered two ’47 classmates: Phyllis Gallinelli Campbell, who entered eternal rest on November 21, 2023, and Jean Olivo Glynn, who died at home on August 25, 2024. Please remember these two remarkable women and their families in your prayers. After the Memorial Liturgy, Gert and I joined alumni and staff for coffee and treats. It was a grand opportunity for Gert to catch up with the scores of Alumnae Board colleagues and others who, like Gert, have been faithful life-long learners with LLARC and volunteered their time to support Regis activities.
While attending this year’s Let is Shine Gala in October, I visited with Elizabeth Owens Cronin ’75 and learned about her mom, Anne Whalen Owens ’47 classmate. It was interesting to learn how Anne grew up in Auburndale – not far from Gert! Then after graduating from Regis, Anne and her husband Robert raised their family of six children along the Connecticut shoreline. Betsy and I are intent on gathering the Regis Daughters of ’47 Women. We know of several but want to find more: Betsy Owens Cronin ’75, daughter of Anne Whalen Owens, Mary F. O’Neill ’75, daughter of Frances Durkee O’Neill, Cathleen O’Halleran McManama ’79 daughter of Alice Dunbar O’Halleran, Kathleen A Brosnahan ’75 daughter of Rita Dailey Brosnahan, Audrey Covelle Wilsack ’85 daughter of Rita Rizzo Covelle, and me, Elaine Richardson ’76 daughter of Phyllis Brosnahan Richardson. So alumnae daughters of 1947 women reach out! Let’s connect! It’s always a joy to check in with the Women of Regis ’47; in every phone call, I learn life updates from strong, still sharp-as-a-tack, independent women who raised another generation of daughters just like them! Keep happy, keep healthy, and let’s celebrate 100th birthdays in 2025!

Rita Fragela - Last year, the anticipation of our 70th Reunion from our beloved Regis College began in January and culminated on June 1. Regina Caines, Pat Cronin Huie, and I exchanged occasional texts reminding each other to “take care” of ourselves so we could meet on the campus on June 1st. We did meet and enjoy some special time with Rodin and chatting in a Regis golf cart and later at lunch. We received applause and admiring glances & relished each moment. In February hubby John and I spent the winter in Sarasota, Florida. Life returned us to our home in North Andover where we experienced the usual ups and downs of ordinary lives.
In early October we returned to Sarasota for a quick trip. Two days of sunshine were followed by hurricane Milton! It was a real “learning” experience. but not a disaster for us.
I wish all my living classmates a wonderful year and send a fervent prayer to my deceased classmates. In conclusion, I reiterate: yes, it’s true — Regis girls are different!

Our 70th class reunion is coming up in May so it is time to start losing or gaining, weight, have that facelift we have been thinking of, and maybe the tummy tuck. As for me, I will be in a wheelchair or with a walker and hope to at least have my hair curled. I look forward to seeing anyone who can make it. Mary Neville Hayes and I are co-chairs of our class activities and we are ensuring, and have been guaranteed, that mobility and other issues will be tended to. If there is anything you need to know email me or Mary (walpolemaryhayes2@gmail.com). Some of you have changed addresses. Please let the alumni office know your new address. julie.dowd@regiscollege.edu
Estelle Ferraro Misto, Anne O’Brien Temple and Phyllis Budrick Murphy plan to come our reunion. Estelle writes that she is still playing bridge, lunching out, and exercising.
And Evelyn Desroches Doherty writes: After more than 50 years living in Wellesley, I recently moved to a retirement community in Wayland. I chose it because it is easily accessible for my four local children and their families. My other four children are scattered around the country, but I do see them whenever possible. I am pleased to report that I have fifteen grandchildren and three dear little great-grands.
Anne O’Brien Temple, Mary Neville Hayes, and I met for lunch in the autumn. Mary is taking advantage of the Life Long Learning programs at Regis.
I look forward to seeing you in May. And watch your email for more news.
If you have moved, send your new address to Regis so you will get US Postal mail.
We were also notified that Betty Uhlinger Miles recently passed away. May she rest in peace.

Pat Turner Kelley continues to travel and recently took a cruise to Barcelona, Portugal, and the Azores. She reports that three generations of her family are Regis graduates - Pat in '56, her daughter Kippy '85, and granddaughter Kelley '22. Marie Vasatoro White had planned a trip to Sicily, but family constraints prevented traveling. However, she did come to Boston for her great-grandnephew's wedding and had a wonderful time. Sally O'Connell O'Connor is recuperating from a broken leg caused by an enthusiastic canine friend! Many of us celebrated turning 90 this year. Carol Hughes Hickey rented a house on Lake George for a family celebration - my celebration was held at my favorite restaurant with my 7 nieces and nephews, and spouses and grands that could make it. Mary Neilan Regan is still living on Martha's Vineyard and occasionally travels to shop and visit her son on the mainland. Rosemary Porter Lucas still keeps busy as a docent at the New Bedford Whaling Museum but has cut back a little! Mary Keenan is the president of the Friends of the senior center in Watertown and is still ironing altar linens for Catholic TV. I still volunteer at church with decorating and the Bereavement team but have cut back. Pat Kelley, Gerry Driscoll, Mary Keenan, and I did manage to have a final officers' get-together- driving 128 is a bit too challenging. Keep in touch - be well. - Mary Lou.

Lora LoConte Stosez: This morning, I heard a two-hour Shakespeare lecture including the reading of a sonnet by a fellow resident in her Welsh accent, madrigals sung by three male residents in accompaniment to readings from four plays, and a professor of literature and a minister talking about Shakespeare. That was just the morning! I feel blessed to be spending this time in my life here (Brooksby Village).

Ann Fiaschetti Martin - Sadly, my husband, Tom, of 61 years, passed away in March 2023. To celebrate his love of Greece, my three daughters and I recently visited two islands: Mykonos, his favorite, and Mylos. It was a very special visit. I'm busy with my book club, investment club, and my docent work at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art.

Hello All Classmates! I hope everyone had a good Holiday Season. I have listed our Class Officers below to bring everyone up to date. Our Officers were elected during our 60th Reunion on Campus in 2022:
CLASS OFFICERS – 2022 – 2027
PRESIDENT – MARY MCCAULEY HIGGINS: mhigg83781@aol.com
VICE PRESIDENT – ANN MCMANUS JOYCE: atjoyce@verizon.net
TREASURER – DEE FIUMARA PEDULLA: dee.pedulla@gmail.com
FUND AGENT – NANCY MULLIN: namullin@comcast.net
REUNION CHAIRPERSON – HELENE SWIATEK SAVICKI: hsavicki@comcast.net
I send emails to classmates regarding events/activities etc. If you have not received my email, I do not have your current email address. Please take a moment to send me your current email address. It would be great to have your contact information as we plan for our 65th Reunion in May 2027. Yes, it is two years away but that time will go by fast. The Class of 1962 will celebrate our 65th Reunion and we will all celebrate the 100th Anniversary of Regis College which was founded in 1927 by the Sisters of Saint Joseph.
Last year the Regis Cape Cod Summer Luncheon was held in August at Wychmere in Harwichport. It was a gorgeous day with beautiful views from the event location. I along with Ann McManus Joyce from our Class of ’62 and Nancy Irwin, Class of ‘68 drove from Medfield and Westwood together to Wychmere and we were joined there by Helene Swiatek Savicki. It was great to see so many alumni in attendance and we enjoyed chatting with several attendees throughout the event. Ann and I also attended the Memorial Liturgy in the College Hall Chapel on November 3. We gathered in the College Hall Foyer after the Mass for coffee, and refreshments and chatted with many in attendance including our Classmate, Joanne Fitzgerald McCrea. There is a list of deceased Classmates listed by year under the Alumni Section on the Regis College Website.
I am retired now (Siemens) and my home is in Massachusetts although I have traveled a lot since my Husband, Jack, passed away in 2011. None of my children or Grandchildren live in Massachusetts so I am on the go a lot. There is always something to celebrate, especially the holidays. A grandson graduated from High School in June 2024 and we celebrated Thanksgiving 2024 in Houston, TX and Christmas in Silver Spring, MD. This year there will be additional celebrations as a Grandson is getting married in May and another Grandson will graduate from High School in June.
Now that classmates can submit “notes” online I hope many will do so when Regis schedules the next opportunity.
Best to all and please keep in touch. Please send your email address along and I will add it to the distribution list which is the best way for me to reach everyone.
Best to all, Mary

On June 1, 2024, we celebrated our 60th reunion, with 16 classmates present. Regis is very grateful for our reunion gift: $181,807 was raised, thanks to Joanne Benedict Caulfield’s challenge grant and our classmates’ response. Thanks to everyone who donated.
I wasn’t able to attend the reunion, but Barbara Bye Murdock provided plenty of news. Mef (Mary Ford – Melrose) has been on a safari this fall. Mary Ann Serra and Mary Carroll Epperlein continue to meet twice a year in New York City to enjoy the Metropolitan Opera.
Suzanne Curtin is now living in Lowell after living in Alaska for the past ten years. She went back to the mission area where she served in the Lay Apostolate in 1965. Margaret Fermoyle Flagg and her husband Jeff enjoy their Cape house, where they see Maureen Shea Dolan and Anne Tennyson Doyle and their husbands.
Six of us met for lunch in the Regis foyer on November 14, 2024. Anne Richer Kirkpatrick said she just returned from three weeks in New Zealand. She is still selling real estate, after thirty years, with Coldwell banker in Sudbury.
Karen Johnson Celi and her husband traveled to Sicily, visiting John’s family there. They are expecting their tenth grandchild, and their next youngest is 18! Pat Luben O’Hearn and her sister-in-law enjoyed a cruise on a steamboat on the upper and lower Mississippi River, then another cruise along coastal Italy and Sicily, then the Adriatic countries of Western Greece, Montenegro, and Croatia.
I, Virginia McNeil Slep, am still writing my column for the North Reading Transcript and am still teaching Creative Writing in the Regis LLARC program (Lifelong Learning At Regis College), and I serve on the Advisory Board. Many of the classes are on zoom now – so even if you can’t make the trip to the Regis campus, check out the classes and programs offered by LLARC. Another really enjoyable program Regis offers is the Alumni Book Club. It is conducted by the Regis librarian, Jane Peck, who does an excellent job. It meets once a month on Wednesday evenings at 7:00 p.m. Come join us!!
I heard from Nobumi (Maria Matsumura) Morishima. She said that all is well with her and her husband. Naoko is in Germany and Sayo is in Keio University Law School, keeping very busy while caring for her two children and her husband. Maria noted that "women's position is still very low and behind in Japan." She send her love to all her classmates.

Mary Ellen Lavenberg once again walked a Camino pilgrim route to Santiago de Compostela in Spain. This was Mel’s fourth Camino walk, each time on a different route. This time, she walked from Portugal after doing some sightseeing and going on food tours in Lisbon and Porto.
Nancy Brown and her sister Sue relived the golden age of cruise ships by going on a 55-day ocean voyage across the Atlantic and back with numerous interesting destinations.
Sharon Gibbons Reardon and husband Tom celebrated a much postponed 50th wedding anniversary trip with a river cruise in France, enjoying delicious food, fine wine, and beautiful scenery.
Andrea DeSimone Hallion and her children attended a surprise 80th birthday party in Chicago for Frances Camarano Johns. The party, a true surprise, was planned by Fran’s children and grandchildren.
Kathleen Henighan and Anne Marie Fontaine Healey traveled to Cuba, where they enjoyed so much art and music, and were impressed by the spirit of the Cuban people. Later, they traveled to Hawaii to attend the Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture, an event involving 26 Pacific Island nations, from French Polynesia to New Zealand. There was fabulous music and costumed dance, an art exhibit, and seminars on education and environmental issues.
Barbara Doran Sullivan is looking forward to her great-niece Katherine’s wedding in Connecticut in late May. Some of us have been following Katherine’s career from young Broadway star as Jane in “Mary Poppins” to her current position as a Bloomberg News reporter.
Marie Shatos is happy that her newly rebuilt home, specially designed for her, is finally ready to move into.
Carole Groncki McCarthy is continuing her latest career as a farmer and had a bumper crop of Concord grapes this year.
Sharon, Pat, Mixie, and Gail Hoffman Burke got together at the Regis Cape Cod lunch, and hope more classmates will be there next summer.
Carole, Gail, Anne Marie, Janet DeAngelo Nedder, and Virginia Flynn Wright attended the Memorial Mass at Regis remembering deceased classmates Barbara Boyle Spencer, Irene Keddy VanRompay, and Linda Pariseau Egan. Our thoughts and prayers go out to all those who have lost family members this year. May you be comforted by happy memories of your loved ones.
Reunion registration and information is only online this year, and if you did not receive the emails, go online to www.regiscollege.edu. Let’s make this a wonderful 60th reunion for our class, both with attendance and donations to our class gift.
Looking forward to seeing you at Regis on May 31!
Carol Jewell Hunt - I was honored to be included in the following art exhibits in late 2023 and 2024:

Elenor Merrigan Olsen - “Hello!” from Virginia Beach to all my classmates. Seems like only yesterday. … I have not been active in the alumnae business in a long time; but, I do follow the Regis Facebook page, which brings back fond memories. I left Massachusetts in 1969 for Southern California, where I met my husband, George Olsen. We had a Navy life, and I retired as a “Navy Wife” with great admiration for our military. We have lived in Virginia since ‘74. However, I visit my hometown of Boston whenever possible. My brother retired to the Cape and our family enjoys that area as often as possible. Our daughter received her law degree from Suffolk Law, and that brought us many memorable visits. I retired at age 71 from 21 years, administering a senior residence funded by HUD and putting my Sociology education to good use. Previously, I worked with Humana in the 1980s when they joined the insurance area. When our children were young, I also did some public school substitute teaching. What an eye-opener that was for someone who had attended a private Catholic School for 12 years! We enjoy our seven wonderful grandchildren, aged 7 to 22, from Portland, Oregon, to Northern Virginia and Virginia Beach. A few years ago, I reconnected with classmate Louise Leonka Carroll, who lives in Northern Virginia. We are hoping to meet again soon since we will be in that area for Thanksgiving. I have not been as active in retirement as expected, as my husband, George, had a stroke in 2019; but we managed to travel to family. Previously, we enjoyed traveling to Alaska, Iceland, Norway, Scotland, and Ireland. We have many, many blessings. Retirement gave me time to explore Ancestry and learn of my Mayflower and Daughters of the Am. Revolution heritage. It was exciting to learn that Anne Hutchinson, a free-thinking woman and one of the first Women’s Rights heroines, whose statue is in front of the State House in Boston, is my 1st cousin ( 10 generations) by way of William Wentworth. I have made many exciting discoveries and encourage anyone interested in genealogy to explore theirs. I wish I had known this decades ago, but I enjoy sharing our heritage with our children and “grands." Although, as expected, they are not always as excited as I am. The ancient game of Mah Jongg has also enhanced my retirement. I play weekly with a group and love this wonderful game, its history, and art. Best wishes to all my Regis sisters - Eleanor Merrigan Olsen, ‘66.

Condolences to the family of Mary Ellen Craig who passed away on May 1, 2024. She practiced law for 30 years while representing the Department of Human Services in Arlington, VA, handling abuse and neglect cases of children and the elderly. Later, she volunteered as an interfaith hospital Chaplain. She leaves a son, daughter, and 4 grandchildren. The summer Regis luncheon was enjoyed by Paula Dempsey Beauregard, Marlene Gibbons Wilkey, Ellen O'Connor, and Carolyn Sammartino Moran. We heard about the Regis in Haiti project that has flourished from educating students to be in health fields, to seeing those students now educating others in Haiti. Marlene continued teaching math until recently, and Carolyn still studies Italian with her 102-year-old teacher. Ellen was recently shopping for picture frames in Orleans with Ellen Farrell. The two Ellens along with a third, Ellen White Hill, are all students of painting at the cellar studio of a woman in Newton. Ellen O'Connor traveled to Paris with Carol Mullen McCormack-Major and her sister Claire O'Connor, '69. She also enjoyed time in New York City with Sandra Farrar Reilly visiting the Metropolitan Museum of Art, Carnegie Hall, and Lincoln Center. Ellen keeps in touch with Patricia Baroni Roof who moved to Cape Cod with husband John from Waterloo, IA where they lived for decades. Paula, Rachel Gustina Shea, Patricia McCurry Morley, Mary McLaughlin, and Rosemarie Melloni Dittmer met informally recently. Paula continues with her book clubs, furniture refinishing, and closing her summer home. Rachel assists her parish in a variety of services, and Mary volunteers at an area school. Patty is returning from her summer home and helping with her grandchildren. Rose continues her programs at several parishes, women's groups, and book clubs.
Mary McLaughlin, Mary Eleanor Untiet Dagle, Ellen O'Connor, Rachel, and Patricia Mccooey Wilcox gathered recently. Mary Eleanor celebrated her retirement. Rose and Carolyn Moran lunched with Frances Waht Lewis a few months ago. We hope to make this a more regular meeting, but time gets away from us. Fran and Scott loved travels in Portugal as a birthday present to their 16-year-old granddaughter. She tells us that Paula Murphy Fletcher now lives in El Cajon, CA. Frances continues volunteering with the Open Space Committee in Eastham on environmental projects. Also working on these projects are Janice Settana Bingham and Frank, members of the West Roxbury Evening Garden Club, who take care of the Caledonia Island Park along with other civic beautification sites. Their daughter, Mary Ellen Kelly, registered dietician and sports nutritionist, recently spoke with Regis athletes about nutrition. Marguerite Jones Gigante and Mike travel to Bedford Hills, NY to see grandson Oscar who is now 12. Peggy recently ran into Frances Hogan at the wake of Angela Ryan Donovan, a Regis graduate, and sister of Fran's law partner. Fran continues to enjoy practicing law. Peggy will resume the Chateau Waltham luncheons after the New Year, and if you'd like to be on the email list, please let her know at mikepeggy@comcast.net.
Miriam Riley Flecca wonders where the time has gone as her youngest granddaughter, Nora, is looking at colleges for business, Riley is at the University of New England getting a doctorate in physical therapy, and Kaitlin is a special education teacher in Derry, NH. Her grandson is a senior at Western New England University studying mechanical engineering. Mary Priebe Hicks celebrated her 80th birthday and told how she is older than most of us because when she arrived from Poland at age 14, she was placed in grade 8. She recalls it as a terrible year, arriving mid-year, not speaking any English, and then being placed in a grade behind where she had been in Poland. Mary's mother and grandmother came with her, and for them it was a return. The grandparents had originally come in 1907, her mother was born here, and then the family had returned to Poland. Mary had been a Russian major at Regis and later worked as a librarian in Newton. After being home for 15 years with 4 children, she returned as a librarian, but this time for law firms. That led to digital work as libraries have changed, and she was working from home until 2020 when Covid arrived. She recalls working at the Regis library when we were students. Mary's family invited Joyce Mahabir Ali to stay with them when we were seniors and Joyce needed a place to live. Mary kept in touch with Joyce for years, and Joyce had married, had 2 sons, and was a teacher and later principal of a school in Trinidad. One of her sons was an air traffic controller. It has been several years since she has had contact with Joyce despite several attempts. Mary's youngest daughter, Alina, was married in October. Of her 5 grandchildren, the oldest is finishing college this year, and all live near her. She has been in the same Wellesley home for 53 years, right on the same street as Regis. She recalls our days in the day-student cafeteria with smokers all around us! Mary also remembers taking a nap in the upstairs lounge of the Student Union. Susan Lang Abbott, another Russian major, is still working at the Shrine of Our Lady of Good Voyage at the Seaport in Boston. She commutes to work by the "T" and then walks, keeping herself in great shape. When visitors come, she tells them that the Stations of the Cross are from the Regis Convent.
Now for the Red Sox Injured List: Several are recovering from falls and breaks and have had a few parts replaced, but are looking forward to a great spring training season! We are a resilient class, determined by our physical therapy, use of canes and walkers, and adding railings, chairlifts, and bars to keep us independent and moving. We are also caring for loved ones, and doing so with grace. Keeping in touch with classmates, laughing, and sharing make it all worthwhile.
Several of our classmates are looking at our next birthday or the one after that.. (you know which one it is). Let us know how you celebrated the special day.
Anne Hosinski Madden - I hope to never again live a year like this one. In September 2023, we lost our Katie. We had had a seesaw year of ups but many downs. It was so hard for her to have left her independent life for the group home, although her roommate Crystal was very kind to her. At first, she would still join me for church or the hair salon or, heaven knows, Best Buy or the Apple store to fix her phone. But as time went on, her world shrank and shrank. Easter was her last trip to church. Dr. Eardley retired, and no more doctor trips for her. Her birthday with her dear sister Mo at Ernesto’s was the last restaurant. It was as if the world was too much for her. Even getting her to the hospital at the end meant sedating her. She was clinging to autonomy and making poor self-care choices. Sepsis set in. The nurses at St. Vincent’s were heroic and so very very kind to her. The cause of death was Ecoli and dementia – early onset Alzheimer's, to which people with Down Syndrome are very prone.
But there were so many blessings. Her funeral was a miracle of light with 300 mourners. Almost 500 have watched it online. Her sister Claire’s opening eulogy line, “My sister was not a well-behaved woman,” brought huge laughs. And the dreams people have had! Katie on a cruise ship balcony, wearing her Mickey Mouse ears, waving happily farewell for now! And my favorite, “Yes, I am very happy! But I miss my mother…” Oh Lord.
I am feeling a bit untethered. She was such a part of me, almost all for good, for 50 years. We have planted a lovely Coral Bark Japanese Maple in her honor at St. Bart’s Episcopal church and her husband Andy keeps it watered. Andy is our hero, the guardian at the gate, who kept vigil with her at the end, and who made sure all was arranged properly and well. Her sisters have been so good, so involved, so caring, so loyal. Knowing Claire and Laurie are settled and happy in their marriages gives me joy.
What else has this year held? The happiness of finally having that Viking River cruise with my sister (Claire Sanford, Emmanuel 1969), promised since mother (Martha Mitten, Regis 1940) died in 2019. Basel to Amsterdam and all the glories of the Rhine. Quite a few hula performances climaxed at Camp Rivendale in August. That’s where Katie was Little Bunny FooFoo when she was four years old! A fitting swan song for me, as I have decided that’s enough of a hula career. A trip to South Bend for my great niece’s wedding; granddaughter Alison came with me, so it was her chance to meet so many extended family who never come to the West coast. Cannon Beach with Andy’s brother Dennis and husband Ross – all our favorites.
The grandchildren are all well. The three boys, Luke, 21, Everett, 16, and Eddie, 14, were beyond handsome and solicitous of me at the funeral. Ali too. We are so, so blessed by them. So there we are. Grateful for 50 years of Katie, our shining star. Grateful for faith. Hugs to you all.
Elaine Simeone Pace - My husband Dan and I moved to PA in June 2024 to live closer to family and medical services. We live in a 55+ community with lots of activities. We are very relieved that our Sanibel condo escaped recent hurricane damage after being completely destroyed by Hurricane Ian two years ago. We live northwest of Philadelphia.
1968
Maria Cole - I recently came back from a Canadian Cruise that left and returned to Boston. On November 7, 2024, I had my second hip replacement. That should put me out of commission for a while I am planning a 9-day Caribbean Cruise in the Spring. I have had lunch a couple of times with Jeanie Gianturco & Judy Lauch. It was great to get together & have many laughs. I am still practicing Reiki in Wakefield. Hope all is well with my fellow alumni.
Dawn-Marie Driscoll - In September, I had the pleasure of working with Regis to announce the Marcella Driscoll Scholarship Fund (alumni.regiscollege.edu/mdsf), named for my late sister and established to benefit students studying social work or mental health. As some of my classmates know, my sister was diagnosed with severe mental illness her freshman year at Brown, and I cared for her for 50 years until she died at age 70 in 2023. The fund is dedicated to her two care managers, Susan Allen and Danielle Lubin, from Your Elder Experts at Jewish Family & Children's Services, who were so instrumental in supporting her in the last 20 years of her life. Regis invited them to speak to a class, after which we surprised them with the scholarship announcement and a reception in the foyer of College Hall. Judy Murphy Lauch (who was an empathetic friend to Marcella in Boston) greeted guests at the reception, and several classmates both came and made contributions -- as well as my aunt Louise Pothier Haznar, class of 1948! In reflecting on my sister's life I decided to establish the fund so that she would leave a legacy of her own. She was a devout Catholic, brilliant, and I know she would have been pleased to learn that the fund was at Regis.

Irene: Gold Metal in Canada, drumming in a race in Pensacola, FL , and my clown self: Miss Gabbie.
Irene Shea McGee - My "Fill The Bucket" year. I am a dragon boat paddler/racer. I applied and was accepted to a very competitive team in a brand new international status: Division D 69+. I was also accepted into the 59+ team Division C. We raced in Welland, CA at the the CANAM club race. ( Canadian/American teams). The Sparta 70 ( Division D) we got gold in the 500 meters and broke a world record set in Hong Kong by 5 seconds. The Leatherneck /Warriors women got Silver. That’s impressive! In October, I had the privilege of being invited to be a clown in a circus, Loomis Bros Circus. I’ve been a clown for 12 years. This was my first opportunity to really participate in a circus. I’m a hospital clown, entertain in nursing homes and school, plus doing parades.

Class Reporter: Audrey (AJ) Volckmann Leonard - Dear Classmates, how wonderful to hear from so many of you! It’s always fun to read up on everyone’s activities!
Sharon McDede Kolor wrote: Well, here in Vero Beach Florida, we were hit by a tornado. Our house did better than many but our old Florida oak trees will never be the same. And at ages 74 and 79, my husband and I decided it was time to get out of Dodge. We will move near our daughter in South Carolina. Life could be so much worse. I’ll take what we have.
Kathy Officer Casavant provided this update: I retired from the classroom 12 years ago after 34 years, but continue to teach through an online high school. Doesn’t pay a lot, but keeps me busy and funds my palm tree addiction. Every year, we go somewhere with palm trees; Mexico is our current favorite and we’re looking forward to our annual visit in May. My ambition was always to travel, and I decided I didn’t care if our house fell down around our ears as long as I could travel. We had a good run, touring Italy and France, visiting several Caribbean islands, as well as areas of the U.S. Fast forward to now, and yup, our house is falling down around our ears, so we have to curtail our travels, at least for the moment. I’m fully convinced my lottery numbers will come in soon! Oh, and we celebrated our 51st anniversary in April.
It was wonderful to hear from Carol Dumais Blank: My husband and I celebrated our 51st anniversary this year. We had lived in southern NH for 39 years when we moved to central FL. We have lived here for 8 1/2 years, and in 2022 we purchased an additional home in Rochester, NY, where my son and his family live. Prior to this purchase, we traveled all around the US in our RV during the steamy FL summers, and at other times of year as well. We are now selling our FL home, with the intent of living in our NY home, nearer to my son's family, and traveling during the winter. We have been truly blessed.
Louise McDonald Goeckel now lives in the San Francisco area. She writes: I did become a California girl and love living here. I am working still in my own Career Coaching business and love it. My big news is that I am a grandmother of a fun toddler boy. It’s heaven. Happy to connect with all classmates, to share positive stories of aging well and grandmother joy!!! Regis was a wonderful educational foundation and a strong women-inspired launch for a life-long adventure!
Another California classmate I heard from was Adele Santora Thurnher. Adele sent in this news: I live in Manhattan Beach, CA with my husband Charles. We celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary last year with our adult children, grandchildren, and extended family. Since 1975 I have been an active member of the National Association of Business Economists. I graduated from Northeastern University in 1974 with a Masters in Economics and a specialty in Money & Banking. In Boston, I worked for The Boston Company building econometric models of industries. In New York, I worked for Lehman Brothers in the Research Department as a member of the Investment Strategy team. In 2010, I joined The Neptunian Womens Club of Manhattan Beach which is a 100-year-old nonprofit dedicated to raising scholarship funds for high school students to attend college. I enjoy playing tennis, pickleball, Mahjong, and relaxing on the beach with my family.
MaryLou Wenthe has been busy and sent in this news update: I am finally putting the finishing touches on the sad little cottage I bought in 2008 in Honeoye, NY in the beautiful Finger Lakes. I am told it looks as if it belongs on Cape Cod which was my intent all along right down to the cupola on top! I attended the Regis luncheon out on Cape Cod last August with Joan Bracken, Mary Lou Randall, Kathy Markt, Mary Clancy and Paula Connolly. It is a lovely annual affair which I highly recommend. The guest speaker shared news of Regis’ involvement in the successful training of much-needed nurses in Haiti. While on the Cape I played golf with Joan Bracken. She is an amazing putter and lives on the Blue Rock golf course with her husband Charlie who is an amazing gardener and their golden retriever, Piper who himself is a decorated AKC Junior Hunter. Lastly, Joan and I had lunch out on the deck at Kathy Edwards’ and husband Richie’s house in North Chatham. We saw Richie’s art collection and heard about the upcoming wedding of their son Gordon in Pittsburgh. In October I drove down to Downingtown, PA to visit fellow art major Mary Holleran and her husband, David Proctor, a retired law librarian. They had kindly paid me a visit in Honeoye on their way home from an architectural tour of Buffalo last spring. We hadn’t seen each other for 25 years and what a nice reunion it was. While in Downingtown I played 2 rounds of golf with David at Honeybrook Golf Club surrounded by Amish farms. Mary then took me to Philadelphia to see the Barnes Museum, home of hundreds of Impressionist paintings. I also got to meet one of their two darling granddaughters. After this wonderful visit, I was happily worn out from talking about Regis, art, and sharing golf stories. And driving through hilly Pennsylvania during the height of the fall colors was a bonus indeed.”
Sukey Saunders has been kept busy raising her foster kitten litters and getting them adopted into new homes. This is her 18th year volunteering in animal rescue. She has also become a member and volunteer with The Village Community. The organization aims to help seniors stay in their homes as they age. As a volunteer, she provides rides to other seniors who can no longer drive. As a member, she can obtain help from other volunteers. It might be tech support, yard work, or help with something in the house. She suggests we all check to see if our community has this wonderful organization and get involved. In September, Sukey headed back to Ireland for another visit with her cousins. She included a side trip to Lisbon which she described as beautiful but physically challenging to anyone whose legs are not fortified with steel.
Janet Wilhelm wrote that we just learned of the passing of one of our dear classmates, Lynn Woodman. There are very few details about her passing but it appears that she died in September sometime.
Just an added note to recognize Maria Zodda for her generous gift to Regis. She is a member of both the Catherine Burke and Higgins Society with her planned gift donation to Regis.
As for me, Jack and I recently celebrated our 51st wedding anniversary! Who knew picking up that hitchhiker would end up in a beautiful long-lasting marriage! We’re truly blessed with 8 beautiful grandchildren (all age 8 and under!), who all live near us in the Chicago area. I keep busy doing a lot of babysitting! I’m an avid puzzler…I do all the NYT puzzles every day, and lots of jigsaw puzzles with the grandchildren. It keeps my mind active!
I was so happy to hear from Mary Holleran, too! Here is her news update: Time has really flown! Post college, I managed a frame shop on Newbury St for 6 years. We moved back to PA and I bought Studio 3, a custom frame shop, in Downingtown, which I ran for 30 years. I had worked there all through high school and college. After retiring I joined our local library board- I channeled my Irish Dad’s fundraising skills and raised over $400,000.00. I am still with David Proctor and I am happy to say that we still like each other. Our girls, Elizabeth and Laura (who is the 3rd generation to graduate from an all-women’s college) live close by with their great husbands and remarkable kids, Elijah (5), and Clara Grace (2.5). In the past few years, I have retired from the frantic pace of my days and I have brought creativity back in my life, plus books, knitting, and gardening.
And I received a wonderful note from Ann McGrath. She writes: Things here in seacoast NH are just fine; my husband and I are both well. Things have been quiet, and good. I have worked part-time at Phillips Exeter Academy in the library and art gallery since retiring from teaching and really enjoy it. Since my husband’s retirement, our focus has been on travel. We were in Sicily in April 2024, and I loved it. Mt. Etna was blowing smoke rings, the people were friendly, the fruits and vegetables were delicious, and the Mediterranean was gorgeous. We hope to return to Italy in 2025 to visit Pompeii. We have traveled to Europe four times since 2017, three times with friends. We have been to France, Tuscany, Sicily, Prince Edward Island, England, Ireland, and on a Viking River cruise on the Danube, which took us to Germany, Austria, and Hungary. We travel often to Connecticut, Maine, and Vermont, to see friends. We have visited Chadd’s Ford, PA to see the Wyeth museum, visited West Point, and taken many trips to mid-coast Maine. So far, my husband and I have visited 11 countries over the years, including Hong Kong and Japan. COVID, regrettably, caused us to cancel a trip to Greece in 2020."
Thank you to all who took the time to send in news! May the new year bring blessings to all the wonderful women of the Class of 1972.
Kind regards,
Audrey (AJ) Volckmann Leonard
Maria Zodda - I still have fond memories of our 50th Reunion, it was so great to see classmates and be on campus. I am finally enjoying retirement and keeping busy swimming, skiing, painting, and keeping up with my two Grandchildren: Fox (11) and Poppy (8). They and my son Ethan participated in Swim Across American this summer. My son and I did one ocean mile with Fox at 1/4 mile and Poppy in the kids 50-yard splash. A fun way to support Nantucket families facing cancer. All funds raised stay on the island. I am pleased that Regis still emphasizes giving back by having students do community service. Some of my best days were spent at Regis!
1973
Elizabeth Johnson - I was so excited to attend our 50th Reunion — my very first, but not my last! In 2022, my husband and I left our dream house in the woods of central Virginia for the city of Richmond, where we’re closer to everything, especially family. I’ve found some interesting and needed volunteer work, and have subscriptions to stage and symphony series. Retirement truly doesn’t suck.
Lauren Sweatt Wright - Hello class of 1973! I became a grandmother in 2024. Two baby girls were born four months apart. Such joy indeed for my family. I continue to enjoy a very special friendship with Joan D. Morrison. She was my senior roommate at Regis. Be grateful, ladies, seek joy, and look for a wee bit of mischief!

Class Reporter: Grace Murphy
Greetings, everyone! Due to some poor planning, your faithful scribe was unable to attend our 50th Reunion. Never fear, though. I did have some moles strategically placed in the crowd and I have been assured that it was a blast. Throughout the weekend, 45 classmates attended at least one of the events. The Parade of Classes, the barbeque, and the Friday night fire pit were all enhanced by the beautiful weather. Our Golden Tower Pins were given out at Saturday night’s dinner, which also included the “official” induction of President Toni Hays. President Hays graduated from Boston College in 1974 and, over the years, we have adopted her into our class. She even marched with us in the Parade of Classes! Saturday afternoon featured our classmate Elizabeth Frawley Bagley, US Ambassador to Brazil, who was “interviewed” by Mary Ann Walsh Lewis about her exciting career and her current life.
The Regis Institutional Advancement team was assisted by a number of our classmates who truly went above and beyond to ensure that this was a memorable event. Diane Salvatore Comforti made name tags from our yearbook pictures and gave out custom-designed visors. She also decorated the Maria Lounge, which was reserved for our class for the weekend. Jody Bayer Michaels, Marie Driscoll Hanlon, and Callie Cahill Grady bought drinks and food to stock the lounge. Many people volunteered to participate in the mass where our deceased classmates were remembered.
At Saturday night’s dinner, attendees found beautiful bookmarks at each place setting. They were made by Lois Barrett Huntington and were designed using art stamps from her own collection, which she acquired in the many different countries where she lived with her family over the years. All of this was preceded by months of planning, spearheaded by our Class President Jody Bayer Michaels, who presided over countless Zoom sessions to iron out the details. Thanks to all of you!
In other news, Mary Ellen Carroll-Rogan’s daughter Eileen was married in New York City’s St. Patrick’s Cathedral in October 2024. Mary Chamberland is still working at the Center for Disease Control (CDC) as a contractor after officially retiring from there several years ago. She is the lead writer for CDC’s Covid-19 vaccine guidance for health professionals. She also recently celebrated her 25th wedding anniversary with her husband Harold.
Sr. Ellen Carr was unable to attend our reunion but did send me an update. She is currently a Sister of St. Francis of Assisi located in St. Francis, Wisconsin, a suburb of Milwaukee. The congregation is engaged in Intergenerational Care; Special Education, Residential Care, and Training; Affordable Senior Housing; Assisted Housing; and Pastoral Care.
Sr. Ellen entered the congregation of the Franciscan Sisters of Baltimore in 1977. They merged with the Sisters of St. Francis of Assisi in 2001. It was a long process, undertaken in the hope of sustaining the ministries and better meeting the needs of the sisters. After being the Development Director for the congregation and spending a term on the Leadership Team, Sr. Ellen is taking a break before re-engaging in ministry.
Lisa Driscoll Tuite, Jan Hannon Carlson, Jamie Passalacqua Thornton and Liz Kurkjian-Henry spent a weekend in New York City in early November. The four best friends from the commuter caf try to make it away together at least once or twice a year. This time they met up to see Left on Tenth, a play based on the book by Delia Ephron. In between there were museum visits, walks in Central Park, eating in some great restaurants and catching up over coffee and wine. The weather and the company were perfect and the four clinked glasses and vowed to continue this tradition as long as they can - something for which we should all strive!

Classmates enjoying the Cape Cod Luncheon
Class Reporter: J.C. Dygert
Happy New Year to the Class of ’75. Don and I had another successful year of "retirecation" (aka, we didn’t kill each other). We still love living on Cape Cod, especially during the off-season when all the tourists have left. We had a great trip last August to Seattle, then a cruise to Alaska. I am still staying active with golf, cooking, gardening, Crossfit, and a few 5Ks. Be sure to mark your calendars for May 30 - June 1, when we all will get together for our 50th Reunion. Where did the time go? Visit the 50th Reunion website to register!
Elizabeth Owens Cronin and her husband, Mike, live in Branford, Connecticut. They have three sons who keep things exciting. The oldest, John, lives in Glastonbury, CT., Matt is in Melbourne Beach, Florida and Michael is in Boston and has a wedding planned for next October. Betsy is currently working on a project with the National Center for Housing and Child Welfare, having initiated the Head Start on Housing Program. She and Mike recently traveled to Ireland and are already looking forward to a return trip. They also enjoy trips to Florida and Massachusetts to visit their kids. Betsy is also working on the plans for the reunion and is looking forward to seeing everyone at our 50th!
Maureen Kelly Longo and her husband, Bill, returned home in 2020 after nearly 8 years living in New Zealand. They are now snowbirds or grey nomads, whichever term you prefer, dividing their time between Connecticut and Florida. They are truly blessed with four children, their spouses, and six grandchildren. The most recent were siblings, adopted in August from Taiwan. With their four children living in New Hampshire, Virginia, Connecticut, and Florida, it’s hard to get together for a family photo, but she successfully captured one (see below). In August. Maureen and Betsy Owens Cronin carpooled to the Regis luncheon on the Cape last summer, where they joined many other friends from our class. They talked the entire 5-plus hours drive and didn’t run out of things to talk about….so, Class of ’75 , please come to our 50th Reunion, we all have a half-century of stories to share!
Mary Lane Brown has kept in touch with Mary Ann Delia Cronin and is looking forward to reconnecting with others at our 50th Reunion.
Lela Niemer Aukes sends love and blessings from Thailand and the Netherlands to all her dear Regis classmates. Sadly, she suffered another stroke but has fully recovered and is back on the catwalk and on set shooting. Her lovely daughter Alexandra followed in her footsteps flying KLM all over the world, with stops in Bangkok to visit. Lela hopes to sell her beach-view apartments in Thailand to spend more time acting and evangelizing. So if anyone is interested!!
Connie Ustach started as a lab tech in the chemistry lab at the Baystate Medical Center after graduation steadily advancing to lead tech and eventually lab supervisor. She worked there for over 46 years, retiring in 2021. She was married, lived in Easthampton, and had a son and daughter. After a divorce, she moved to Springfield. After retiring about 3 years ago, she moved to Florida with her 2 older sisters and is very happy there. She has three grandchildren, two boys and a girl, who are her greatest joy. She is fortunate to have such a good life and believes that her time at Regis helped her get there.
Mary Ellen Fillo often drives by Regis to visit her son and his family in Weston. She remembers doing her student teaching at Weston High and that some of our classmates taught at her grandson's school. She treasures monthly phone conversations with Elaine Mercier.
Joan LeMarbe has finally retired and has kept busy and joyful since then! Her daughter Jordan was married in March 2024. Jordan and her husband Thomas will have their follow-up wedding celebration (the party!), September 2025, in London, where they first met. Joan is also looking forward to reconnecting at our 50th.
Cathy Grealy Cohen is on a couple of nonprofit boards (Glaucoma Society and Prevention of Blindness) . She also has a consulting business helping disruptive health tech start-ups with Medicare reimbursement challenges including Artificial Intelligence and remote home monitoring. Of course, all of that happens after her daily pickle-ball games. She travels often to visit grandkids in Richmond VA and Nashville, but also fits in a Viking cruise to Italy!
Mary Ann Cronin is staying busy working on all the details of our 50th Reunion. Let’s be sure to show our appreciation of the teams hardwork to get us all together.

Mary Ann Dellea Cronin - 2024 has been a relatively calm year - relatively good health for the family. No major travels, but nice visits with friends in Maine and Long Island in September. I am still working part-time and hope to do so for another year. It's nice to keep my hand in the social work arena while still having time to do many of the things I enjoy. I have been working with a group of. our classmates to generate enthusiasm for our 50th Reunion, coming up May 30 - 1, 2025. It's impossible to believe that 50 years have passed since we graduated. I hope we have a large turnout - it would be so nice to see everyone. Until then, stay well and enjoy the upcoming holiday season.

Patricia Flynn Riley - Thoroughly enjoying retirement with my husband, Paul, at our home at Good Harbor Beach in Gloucester, where Donna Bosche O'Brien, Cheryl Dumont Smith, and Posey Baker Fradette visit at least once yearly. Spend winters in Naples, Florida, where I always enjoy attending the annual Regis Mass and luncheon in March.
Blessed to be able to spend time with 3 grandchildren in Weston and 3 in NYC.

Karen Montague, Class Reporter - Save the date. Wednesday, August 2nd for a group 70th birthday celebration. More details to come.
Although Joy Toomey and Donna Cellucci Sumner missed the Regis Cape Luncheon which they planned on attending, they were able to meet up with Jill Alexander Belastock, Mary Edwina Colpoys, and Dianne Novak Andresano at Skipjacks in Foxboro to celebrate Dianne’s retirement. The group had a great time catching up.
Here are some of the highlights:
Donna is enjoying retirement on Cape Cod where she golfs with classmate, Jan Gleason Rogers, and like many others, has taken up pickleball. This past year Donna and her partner, Don, were delighted to spend time in Hilton Head and cruising to the Caribbean. Jill is living in Kingston, MA where her family enjoys lovely water views of the bay and miles of sky. Jill spends as much time as possible with her 2 daughters, and sister who lives up the block from Donna! After 45 years at Hanover Insurance, Dianne has retired to spend more time with her husband, Vin, and daughter, Megan. She is already planning her 2025 vegetable garden and cooking up a storm. After 39 years Mary-Edwina retired in 2022 from General Pediatrics. She now works at The Integrated Center for Child Development in Newton working with Neurodiverse children and adolescents. She enjoyed a trip last March to the US and British Virgin Islands. Mary Edwina is living six months of the year in Martha’s Vineyard, where she sails, swims and enjoys gardening. Joy is happily retired spending more time with her boyfriend, Dave, who retired on July 1st. They enjoyed boating in Marblehead during the summer and have plans to travel to the Caribbean and Hawaii in the coming months.
Janet Prior has moved to Nokomis, Florida full time. A farewell lunch attended by Betti Mazeiko Abdulla, Julie O’Connor McGinn, Kathleen Cove Curley, and Carol Manning Chicarello was held at Davio’s in Foxboro. Betti and Janet also met up with Marion Quinn Jowett who was vacationing on the Cape before the move. Since her husband John retired, Julie has been doing a lot of traveling. She has enjoyed a Danube River Cruise, will be cruising to Antarctica and meeting up with her sisters (both Regis alum) in Rome for a visit. Carol Manning Chicarello divides her time between Arlington and Bow Lake and has also been doing a lot of traveling. She is vice president of the Stratford, NH Garden Club. Jan Gleason is the President of her Garden Club on the Cape and will be traveling to California for the Thanksgiving holidays. Susan Anderson Stirrat and her husband Reno continue to compete (and win) in Master Class road races throughout the United States. Jan Rutkowski is loving retirement. Staying fit playing pickleball and doing lots of traveling with her wife MaryBeth. In February they went to Norway and Denmark. In Norway took a Hurtigruten cruise all the way up the coast of Norway. Small-ish, working boat - lots of stops along the way. Sometimes to deliver mail or supplies to remote villages. They also did some snowshoeing and dogsledding and even saw the Northern Lights. Their visit ended with a few nights in Copenhagen. All in all, a great trip. Next up is a trip to London and a long-awaited twice deferred trip to New Zealand where they will spend a month. Jan celebrated Team USA’s Rugby Bronze win in the Paris Olympics. Jan was a pioneer in US Women’s Rugby and a proud member of the 1991 first-ever Women’s Rugby World Cup Champion team.
Val McGee Fry continues to paint and show her work in exhibitions in Maryland and Virginia in addition to teaching art. Her work is beautiful. As is another talented artist in our class, Carmel Coughlin Donoghue who recently celebrated her 40th wedding anniversary. Jane Lenox Leary’s mother passed away last year. Despite living in Connecticut, she drives up once a week to Medford to visit and help her Dad maintain independent living in the house Jane grew up in. I remain involved with Afghan resettlement and am part of a group of volunteers that started a 501C3 charity called Sewing Seeds for Hope. Sewingseedsforhope.com. Kathy Cove Curley has been very involved in helping to launch the business. My daughter is a sophomore at Emerson in Boston majoring in Speech Pathology. Happy New Year to all.
Elizabeth Irene Bartolotti Califano - Owner of an upscale, farm-to-table restaurant in Worcester, MA called Volturno. I have three successful and kind adult children - two attorneys and one entrepreneur. I am so proud of them and my five wonderful grandbabies. Sadly, I lost my husband and recently moved to Parkland, FL, to be near my daughter. We spend our summers in Massachusetts.
Joanne Ferraro Davies - I am a grandmother again. Lucy Laura Unruh was born to my youngest daughter, Casey, on June 8, 2024. She and big brother Ben both live in Overland Park, Kansas, a long distance from their Nana and Grampy. I am working with a company called ESS. I train substitutes for two different areas about once a week. It keeps me thinking about being in the classroom. Ron and I continue to enjoy our home in Bluffton, SC. We both enjoy playing pickleball and traveling.

Judy Allonby, Class Reporter - First, the sad news, since our last class notes, we have learned of the passing of our classmates Maria D’Ippolito Milo; Stephanie Johnson McGann, my high school classmate, as well; and Gretchen Youngdahl. Our deepest sympathy goes out to their family and friends. Maria and Stephanie were remembered at the Regis Alumni Memorial Service in November. Gretchen will be remembered at the service next fall. Classmates, of course, are encouraged to attend. Links to obituaries are attached:
Maria D’Ippolito Milo

In happier news: Eileen Mulry Campbell reports that after 12 years in SC, she and Dave returned to New England tin 2021 to be closer to their 4 children and 5 grandchildren. Eileen has now been with Parexel for over 20 years in Talent Acquisition. Eileen and Dave live in Exeter, NH, and are loving being back in New England.

Toni Miller Butler reports that she is enjoying life with her 7 grandchildren. For the girls: Summer is 15, Sawyer is 13, Saylor is 11, Sullivan is 8 and Emersyn is 4. For the boys: Weston is 2 and James V ( Bo) is 9 months. In October, Toni and Janice Mogavero France spent a weekend at Vivian Mawhinney Gerzog’s beautiful home in Long Island and enjoyed spending time together and reminiscing about their days together at Regis. Toni and husband Jim celebrated their 43rd wedding anniversary with a weekend getaway at the Omni Mount Washington Hotel in Bretton Woods, NH in September.
Our 45(!!!)th Reunion is scheduled for my birthday on Friday, May 30, 2025 through Sunday, June 1, although I doubt my birthday factored into the college’s scheduling. Regis will send ALL communications about reunion weekend electronically, which means if they don't have your email or your friend’s email, you won't get the notices. The Alumni Office does not have email addresses for a very large portion of our class. So, if you are on the list below and you want notices of our reunion, or if your friends are on the list, please let the alumni office know the email address.

Also, our reunion planning committee currently consists of me and class president Caroline Coscia. If you would like to volunteer to help, that would be greatly appreciated as both of us still work full-time and have other serious commitments. Caroline is the sole caregiver for her 99-year-old father and is still teaching political science at UMass Boston where she is also president of her union. In addition to my full-time job as an attorney for the Department of Correction, I work a second part-time job in the Boston theater and concert venues. In 2025, I will be trying my first case in front of a jury, not my first trial but my first jury trial, something I have been extremely happy to avoid throughout my entire career and very much dread doing now. This case will consume much of the new year for me.
Wishing you all the best for 2025 and see you at reunion. - Judy

Eileen Mulry Campbell - After 12 years living in the Low Country, we decided to move back to our New England roots and landed in Exeter, New Hampshire, 2 years ago. We are loving being back in New England, closer to children and grandchildren (5). I continue to work from home for Parexel and have been with them for 22 years. Dave and I celebrated our 30th Wedding anniversary in August with a trip to Woodstock, VT, and Bar Harbor, ME.

Kelly Kelly - Regis classmates in attendance at a surprise birthday party that Maureen Fallon’s husband Tom organized for her. Wonderful party at the Wollaston Golf Club in November. COMPLETE surprise for Maureen! I think she is 50+ but who is counting? Certainly no one in our class…
Meg Simpson McDonald passed away in July after a heroic battle with cancer. Meg worked as a social worker, travel consultant and had her own business, but it was her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant that made her heart sing. She was dedicated to and loved working with the elderly. Meg was committed to her family and friends, loved planning parties, celebrating birthdays and holidays, and sending cards for all occasions. A celebration of her life was attended by Regis classmates Carol Weigel Di Franco, Maureen Fallon Leonard, and Maureen Stephens.

Christine O'Donnell - About 7 years ago, I rented a place in Gloucester right on the water and fell in love. When leaving, I said to the landlord how sad I was to be leaving. She said it was available as a winter rental starting in October. I have stayed ever since. My career started out in computers and moved into Accounting and Operations. More recently, I work to solve problems on a part-time consulting basis. I live a pretty simple life, kayaking (I have 3) in warmer months, snowshoeing in winter, taking walks on the beach, and hikes in the woods. I do have many good friends that I go out with as well.

Annmarie Reardon Woods - I’m excited to share some great updates! I recently welcomed my second grandson, Cooper, to the family. Additionally, I’ve earned my National Social Security Advisor Certificate, enhancing my knowledge about Social Security and sharing insights when educating clients. Lastly, I’m celebrating four wonderful years with Guggenheim Investments. It’s been an incredible journey so far!

Maureen Holland, Class Reporter - The bonds of our friendships as classmates from Regis College continue to deepen and flourish in 2024. This year, several of our classmates experienced the profound loss of a parent. In those difficult times, the Regis sisterhood came together with unwavering support—whether through attending a funeral Mass, making a thoughtful phone call, being there to listen or sending flowers. I know this from experience. Time and again, we remind each other how fortunate we are to share this connection. The Class of 1988 holds a unique and cherished bond, knowing that no matter what life brings, a trusted friend is always a call away. These friendships also shine in joyful moments. In December, Rosalind Powers, Courtney Feeney, Melissa McCabe, MaryEllen Kelly, Barbara Grady, Sarah Wilcox, Anne Maneikis, Fatima Garcia, Marianne Richie, Kara Laverty, Laura Doherty, Susan McDonough, and I gathered for a festive outing at the Holiday Pops at the Boston Symphony Orchestra. Despite the rainy Sunday afternoon, we brightened the day with green light-up holiday glasses and enthusiastically joined the Holiday sing-along led by Keith Lockhart. The performance included a tribute to Harry Belafonte and a delightful rendition of The Nutcracker. It was a wonderful way to kick off the Christmas season with close friends. In May, MaryEllen Kelly hosted her annual Kentucky Derby Party at her lovely condo on Spinnaker Island in Hull, Massachusetts. Anne Maneikis, Debi Brooks, Susan Sullivan, Barbara Grady, and Laura Doherty embraced the Derby spirit with fabulous hats, and Debi Brooks won the prize for best dressed! The day was filled with laughter and fun, a perfect reflection of our enduring friendships. This summer, Rossana Teran visited Boston from Miami and enjoyed a lovely lunch on Newbury Street with Fatima Garcia. In October, Anne Maneikis hosted a spooky dinner party, complete with festive decorations. Melissa McCabe, Fatima Garcia, MaryEllen Kelly, Debi Brooks, and Heidi Michitsch joined in the fun. During the evening, we learned that Anne is a beekeeper, and she graciously gifted each guest a jar of her delicious honey! Please continue to share your news with me at mfh257@gmail.com. Keep the Faith.

Martha Douty - I have been working at Summit Elder Care for almost eight years. For a year, I have been facilitating a caregiver support group and was team Captain for the Alzheimers Walk. This past year, my son William received his First Communion, and he enjoys playing sports. William will be in the performance of the Nutcracker at Hanover Theater. I also began taking voice lessons at the Hanover Theater while my son was in rehearsal. I do like fundraising for causes helping people with special needs, and I will volunteer at the Polar Plunge in January. The proceeds go to the Special Olympics. In February, I will participate in Cycle for Life both in memory of my mother as well as fellow alumnae Kristy Sasha Kanhai. Another Regis Alumnae will join me. In the meantime, health is important to me, and I enjoy different exercise classes with a women's health fitness group. My sister Anna with special needs who visited Regis from time to time (Sister Anna, CSJ) was very kind to her and continues to reside in a group home. I also have been volunteering with my son and look forward to bringing him again to Regis in the future. I am grateful to have met many wonderful lifelong friends at Regis who I keep in communication with regularly. Looking forward to celebrating our milestone class reunion next year and being on the committee.

It's that time of year again, CLASS NOTES! With the beginning of a new year, we will also mark our 20th REUNION! Where has the time gone? I am still living the active duty Army wife life and have moved back to North Carolina from California. I am happy to announce that I will be serving as your reunion co-chair and am really looking forward to seeing you all this spring! Meghan Sullivan is still living on Cape Cod, and she welcomed a new chocolate lab puppy in April 2024, Woody [image above. In May, she started a new job working for the Cape Cod & Islands Council of the Boy Scouts of America (soon to be known as Scouting America) in a multi-role position. This past year has seen her getting back into community theatre productions and enjoying the outdoors again after being sidelined by a serious leg injury since 2022. Amanda Valcarcel moved to Tampa, FL, and works as an at-home hospice social worker. She is working on her social worker license and celebrated her baby's first birthday at the end of November. Our 20th Class Reunion Co-Chair, Michelle Class Peterson's family continues to live in Hudson, MA, where she runs into Katherine Bloomquist at spin and Cate McGlaughin at school events. She can’t wait to see everyone at Reunion!
Thank you to everyone who submitted class notes, every year the number grows less and less and I hear from folks that "their lives are boring" - this I know is far from true but we all tend to be our own worst critics. I encourage you to submit class notes the next time they roll around. Your classmates and other Regis alumni absolutely love reading about the phenomenal things you're doing in this world. I am incredibly grateful to call you a part of the Regis Pride. Until next time - God Bless, Liz DeLise

Danielle Castle - Hi, I am doing well as an outpatient therapist, working full-time at a private practice seeing clients of all ages including couples, families, children, and adults. I have been employed since graduation and am looking forward to stepping in as a lead here while my boss is on maternity leave.
Elinne Southmayd - When I applied to the nursing program, Regis College opened its doors and gave me the opportunity to pursue my dream. I graduated on May 11, 2024, and after taking the NCLEX in the first week of July, I am now officially a registered nurse. I would like to thank all the educators at Regis College during my nursing school journey, especially Professor Bambino. The encouragement and support she provided to all of us were above and beyond, and I couldn’t be more grateful. It was not an easy journey for me, as I had to juggle a family of four children, part-time jobs, and full-time school. I still can’t believe how I managed to balance everything. But now, I am grateful and proud to say that I nailed nursing school!
Never give up on your dreams; everything is possible if you believe in yourself.
