Report on philanthropy:
Donor spotlight
For Maria Zodda '72, Regis can be summed up in three words: intellectual, dedicated, and vital.
Majoring in political science with a minor in history, Maria was drawn to Regis for its commitment to women’s education and its strong academic programs. Her time at Regis not only shaped her career but also instilled a dedication to service that has guided her throughout her life.
Zodda’s love for Regis and its core values inspired her to give back in a meaningful way.
“I chose to make a planned gift to Regis because I wanted to make a lasting impact,” Zodda shares. “I have full faith that my contribution will directly benefit students, and I’m proud to make Regis my primary institution in this way.”
After graduating, Maria began a 30-year career teaching at the Boston School for the Deaf, run by the Sisters of St. Joseph. Her liberal arts education from Regis provided a solid foundation for her work as a teacher, and even in retirement, she continues to serve her community. As a substitute teacher at Nantucket Public Schools and a volunteer on various town committees, Maria's passion for service remains as strong as ever.
“I admire how Regis has stayed true to its mission while evolving with the times,” Zodda says. “I am proud to support Regis as they continue to empower students and ensure that future generations will have the same opportunity to learn and grow, just as I did
