Michael Emanuelson '16
Men's Lacrosse Fund

The Michael Emanuelson '16 Men’s Lacrosse Fund is named in memory of a fellow friend, lacrosse team captain, and beloved Regis alumnus. Known as Mike to those closest to him, he brought so much joy, happiness, and laughter into the lives of all those who were lucky enough to know him. People gravitated toward his fun-loving personality, and he always found a way to raise the spirits of everyone in the room. His compassion for others shined through every day, and he always put others before himself. Mike is sorely missed.

Mike was a devoted member of the men’s lacrosse team for four years, serving as a two-time captain and leading the team to their first-ever NECC championship in 2016. At the end of his first season, Mike received both the Scholar-Athlete Award and the Coach's Award. Throughout his four-year career at Regis, he was a member of All-NECC, Pilgrim League Academic Team, and Team Impact Campus Representative. Mike was a biochemistry major and mathematics minor, and he also served the Regis community as Vice President of the Student Government Association and a member of the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee.

Sadly, Mike passed away on August 24, 2021. The university has worked with Mike’s parents, coaches, and teammates to establish the Michael Emanuelson '16 Men’s Lacrosse Fund. Being a member of the Regis men’s lacrosse team was a major and influential part of Mike’s Regis experience. We are honored to name this fund in his memory to ensure his legacy lives on. 100% of funds raised for the Michael Emanuelson Men’s Lacrosse Fund will benefit the Regis men's lacrosse team.

Your support humbles us, and along with the Emanuelson family, thank you in advance for your generosity and commitment to remembering Michael.

The Locker Room:

The fund’s inaugural project will support improvements and enhancements to the current men's lacrosse locker room. The current space has not been updated for many years, resulting in a dated space that does not function efficiently.

Locker rooms are thought of as a place to change, shower, and store gear—but that space is so much more. Locker rooms play a much broader and more important role in an athlete’s experience—providing a place for mental preparation, halftime adjustments, team interaction, and relaxation.

In addition to providing these essential elements, the locker room is where teammates forge lifelong bonds through the camaraderie of their experience and their deep investment in the preparation for practice and competitive play. Mike’s teammates remember fondly the time they spent with Mike in their locker room—memories they will now cherish forever.

Please donate, raise awareness, and encourage others to join you - no gift is too small!  If you’re interested in joining the fundraising committee, please email alumni@regiscollege.edu.
