John J. Tegan, Jr., MEd, HON LLD, is a longtime Regis College supporter who served as a member of the Board of Trustees for eight years—including five years as Chairman. He also served as a co-chair for the university’s groundbreaking Now We Fly campaign, committing one of the largest gifts to the campaign to name the Lorraine Tegan Learning Commons in honor and in memory of his late wife, Lorraine DeStefano Tegan, Regis Class of 1963.

After graduating from St. Mary’s High School in Lynn, Massachusetts, Mr. Tegan earned his bachelor of arts in English from Suffolk University, a master’s in education from Salem State University, and an advanced graduate studies degree in reading from Boston University—which led him back to his hometown of Revere, Massachusetts, to teach and serve as Director of the Reading Program at Revere Junior High School.

Mr. Tegan worked in sales and technology for 20-plus years before founding and becoming chairman of Communications Technology Services (CTS), a technology company that serves commercial, government, and educational organizations. Mr. Tegan grew his company to more than 500 employees in 20 states with $50 million in annual revenue.

Mr. Tegan was awarded an Honorary Doctor of Laws from Regis College in 2022 to recognize his incredible leadership, generous philanthropy, and unwavering dedication to Catholic education and the Regis mission of providing access to higher education to students of all backgrounds.
