ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT

Darlene Greco HaysName: Darlene Greco Hayes
Class: 1985
Regis Major: Economics
Regis Minor: Communication
Current Job: Community Outreach Coordinator at MyFM Media 101.3 FM

Why did you decide to come to Regis?
It felt like home—a place that I could not only learn but be part of a community.

How did your experiences and your education at Regis shape your life after college and your career path thus far? It gave me confidence and belief in myself in addition to the tools to go into the business world.

Did you have a favorite Regis Professor, mentor, class that impacted your life?
The late Sister Helen Fenton was a mentor to me and was deeply inspired by Sister Therese Higgins. Each took individual time with me, checking in when I was going through a difficult time personally, and continually letting me know they believed in me. At my graduation I presented both privately with bouquets of roses and Sister Helen was even a guest at my wedding.

What did you learn at Regis that has served you well throughout your life?
Compassion, our world is bigger than ourselves and to always look for the opportunity to leave a positive impact.

Tell me about your career and your current job.
I am the community outreach coordinator with a small local radio station MyFM 101.3 and spend much of my day reaching out to non-profits to help feature their events and mission. Our focus at MyFM Media is being a community partner with a focus on supporting local businesses, philanthropic enterprises, and local recognitions.

Regis definitely prepared me for a lot in my life including my work at MyFM 101.3. For me, the biggest thing was building personal confidence and using my voice more effectively. Relationships are everything and in my role in community outreach I look to build partnerships
