Regis in Haiti
Regis is committed to Partnerships!
In 2007, inspired and supported by our friends from Partners In Health, Dr. Paul Farmer and Ophelia Dahl, Regis began working to serve the dear neighbor in Haiti. The first initiative that Regis started with partners from the Haitian Ministry of Health, the University of Haiti, and the University of Notre Dame D’Haiti, the Regis College Haiti Project has been focused on the advancement of nursing education, specifically the education of nursing faculty through an educate the educator model across the country. In March 2018, Regis graduated its 3rd cohort of nursing faculty and is currently working with Alumni of the project to build on the next phase of the important work to continue to advance the profession in the country.
Along the way, Regis has been invited and inspired to work on other projects in Haiti where there is so much need.
Haiti Project Alumni Accompaniment
(formerly Regis Haiti Project)

To further support the graduates of the Regis Haiti Project & continue the important work to advance the nursing profession in Haiti, Regis is working with partners and project alumni in Haiti on specific objectives to advocate for the improvement of the healthcare system in the country.
Regis In Mirebalais- Nursing Clinical Excellence Program

Regis is proud to be working with the incredible Partners In Health hospital in Mirebalais, Haiti (HUM). To continue to advance and support the healthcare system in Haiti, Regis has begun working to develop a Clinical Excellence Program with Nurse Educators at the hospital in Haiti. Through Regis’ work with the Haiti project, it became clear that a large gap exists between curriculum at the various schools of nursing and clinical practice in the hospitals and healthcare facilities. This project was created to begin to bridge that gap and improve and strengthen clinical care.
Regis & Be Like Brit (BLB) Clinic Partnership

In 2014, President Hays and team members from the Haiti Project visited the Be Like Brit Orphanage in Grand Goave, Haiti, after being invited by Cherylann and Len Gengel who built the orphanage after their daughter, Britney Gengel, perished in the 2010 earthquake while volunteering in Haiti at an orphanage. The Be Like Brit Foundation and Regis have partnered to support the healthcare needs of the village surrounding the orphanage through a clinical partnership that is caring for the men, women and children who otherwise would not have access to care. A health education program is also being developed to serve the community.
