Regis College, founded by the Sisters of Saint Joseph of Boston, contains within our archives one of the largest collections of Saint John Henry Newman works in the United States. A convert to Catholicism in the 19th century, Newman was a great scholar of Early Church History, an advocate for the role of the laity in the Catholic Church, and he wrote extensively on: conversion, faith and reason, belief and unbelief, and the idea of a University.

In honor of the first-year anniversary of Newman’s Canonization, and the 75th anniversary of the first Newman Symposium held at Regis College, the Department of Humanities at Regis College is pleased to announce a Virtual Symposium on Saint John Henry Newman to be held October 23, 2020.
