Report on philanthropy:
Donor spotlight

As she prepared to celebrate her 50th Reunion, Cheryl Dumont-Smith '75 reflected on the influence Regis had on her life and made a powerful decision to give back.

Through a planned gift and membership in the Catherine Burke Society, Dumont-Smith has ensured that her legacy of service and impact will continue for generations.

I wanted to make a statement about the impact Regis had on my life. This planned gift is my way of giving back to the place that gave me so much.“The Regis philosophy of life through service to others was something that had always been a part of me, but it was fostered
and encouraged during my years at Regis,” she shares.

As a student, Dumont-Smith found herself inspired by both campus life and the world around her. She recalls the powerful influence of the antiwar and feminist movements and the way Regis provided opportunities to explore and express her beliefs on both issues.

Those formative experiences shaped her path forward, fueling a lifelong commitment to advocacy and empowerment.

“I am proud to say that during my professional career, I established two foundations that continue to thrive and support other women to this day,” says Dumont-Smith.

By including Regis in her estate plans, Dumont-Smith is not only paying tribute to her past but helping to shape the future of the university she loves.

“I wanted to make a statement about the impact Regis had on my life,” she said. “This planned gift is my way of giving back to the place that gave me so much.”
