Every year the Center for Ministry and Service hosts its annual fundraiser Regalos. Regalos – meaning gifts in Spanish – is a word that captures the essence of Regis service immersion trips. It is reflective of the way that Regis students share their talents and gifts with diverse communities all around the world. Following the legacy of the Sisters of St. Joseph of Boston, students travel to different places – among them Kenya, Puerto Rico, Jamaica, Dominican Republic, and a Civil Rights Pilgrimage to Georgia and Alabama – to serve their Dear Neighbor without Distinction and learn about different cultures.
Every year as our service immersion programs grow, so does the need to fund them and make them accessible to all Regis students. Due to this need, Regalos has become what it is today – our most central fundraiser event indispensable to upholding our commitment to service immersion trips.
